GOOD/Basic – Silver Series

This is the most affordable American standard series air conditioner. In this category, their starting single staged ac lineup comes. Overall this is a great budget segment. If you’re under a tight budget you must consider this.

The part availability is also very good. You can find almost every part within a good price range. Also, the maintenance cost of this series is also very low.

One thing to remember is that the basic/good category has a normal/standard energy efficiency. You can expect to save few bucks per year.

Better – Gold Series:

This is a medium-level air conditioner that is neither too expensive nor too cheap. These two-staged air conditioners are also very energy efficient.

You can expect to save few bucks on your energy bills. The gold series ac uses ozone-safe refrigerant for eco-friendly use and operates with minimal noise. 

Best- Platinum Series

This is the premium segment provided by American standards. These types of variable ac are very energy efficient. You can expect to save a lot on energy bills. The platinum series is the quietest among all three series.

Gold 17 is a better level two-stage ac. The overall SEER rating of this model is 18. With this seer rating, you can expect to save on energy bills. This model is slightly premium and will cost more. This model is also certified by energy star.

Platinum 18:

This is the best level variable speed ac by American standard. This model has a SEER rating of 18. The platinum models are very energy efficient and you can expect to save a lot on energy bills. This model is also certified by energy star.

Platinum 20:

This is also the best level variable speed ac by American standard. This model has a SEER rating of 22. 22 is considered to be one of the best SEER ratings. You’ll save a lot on energy bills. This model is certified by energy star.

  • Almost all the lineup of the American standard has great energy efficiency. Even the basic ones have good energy efficiency.
  • Their air conditioner has new and effective technology and parts which makes their brand widely acceptable.
Cons
  • Overall warranty cover is good but the scroll-compressor warranty is not up to the industry standards (lifetime warranty).
  • Another big factor that makes American standard lacks is the installation. If you’re going to install an American standard ac unit. Then make sure that the installation is done by licensed professionals only.
